Summer: 5 days Chūgoku itinerary
This itinerary will bring you through both north and south side of Chūgoku, running through the best matsuri of Obon festivities, from August 12 to 16.
Starting from Kurashiki typical canals, we’ll move to Okayama and Hiroshima before exploring smaller cities like Yanai and Fukuyama.

Being the smaller of Japan’s 4 main islands, Shikoku is little known to international tourism. And for this reason is probably the most enjoyable in August!
Be prepared to curious Japanese people trying to speak with you testing their English language skills. Shikoku local people are less shy and more friendly than people living in big metropolies.
